Following many government restrictions on mass gatherings, the oldest labor union for actors is taking fast action to assist their members who are out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, New York state and city lawmakers made the unprecedented decision to shutter all Broadway theaters with many other major cities following suit.
Under Gov. Cuomo’s gathering restrictions, groups of over 500 are prohibited through April 13. For groups under 500 — which included smaller and independent theaters and venues — capacities will be limited to 50 percent of its normal allotment.
