After 16 years of outstanding and dedicated service to Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA), Louise Foisy received the first ACCA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chorus. This newly instated award had not previously been announced and was a surprise and was given after Legally Blonde won the first ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus on October 23rd at Equity's headquarters in New York City.
"I know sometimes Tina Turner is called the hardest working woman in show business but I beg to differ," said Second Vice President and ACCA Chair Jean-Paul Richard. "Working alongside Louise these past years has been a privilege and an honor. Louise has been extraordinary in her effort to represent the chorus of the Association."
The ACCA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chorus will not, necessarily, be an annual award but one that will be given out when the ACCA feels someone is deserving of the honor.
"Oh thank you so much. This is quite a shock, quite a shock. Thank you very much. Unbelievable," said Louise as she accepted her crystal award and bouquet of roses and spoke through booming applause from her friends and peers. "I am so honored to have this recognition. Nothing thrills me more than going to a show and seeing the chorus when they step out for that number. It's just a thrill for me. Thank you so much and thank you Jean-Paul and the chorus, Council and the Committee. It's been a real, real joy in my life and I'll never forget it."
